CVE-2026-36612

Wi-Fi access via predictable WPS PIN

Published Jun 3, 2026 · Updated Jun 3, 2026

Weak WPS authentication in Mercusys AC12G (EU) V1 firmware 200909 and 210128 allows physically proximate attackers to gain Wi-Fi access. The WPS implementation derives the AP PIN deterministically from the BSSID MAC address and locks attempts for only 43 to 60 seconds after ten failures. Exploitation requires the owner to activate WPS PIN exchange; the predicted PIN then succeeds in one attempt and exposes the protected LAN.
