Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized password parameters
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Command injection in Netis AC1200 Router NC21 4.0.1.4296 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands over the LAN. The /cgi-bin/skk_set.cgi handler base64-decodes the password and new_pwd_confirm POST values and passes them to an OS shell without sanitization. The endpoint requires no authentication, and successful injection executes commands with the router operating system's privileges.
