Unauthenticated stored XSS via widget source injection
Published Apr 15, 2026 · Updated Apr 15, 2026
Stored XSS in Accessibly 3.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in site visitors' browsers via its REST API. Unauthenticated REST requests reach updateWidgetOptions(), which stores an unvalidated widgetSrc URL that enqueueFrontendScripts() loads as a sitewide script. Changing widgetSrc to an attacker-controlled URL causes every front-end page view to load the external script.
