Browser script execution via unsanitized decryption field
Published May 22, 2026 · Updated May 22, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Advantech WebAccess/SCADA 8.0-2015.08.16 allows remote attackers to expose sensitive browser data. The Create New Project User component renders the decryption field without sufficient sanitization or output encoding, so supplied markup runs as JavaScript. A victim must save or preview the record; code executes in that authenticated user's browser context and can access session-visible data.
