Unauthenticated root access via hidden CLI function
Published Mar 23, 2026 · Updated Mar 23, 2026
Hidden functionality in WAGO managed-switch firmware allows remote attackers to escape the restricted CLI and gain root access. An undocumented CLI prompt function exposes a path from the restricted management interface to the underlying operating-system shell without authentication. Network access to the CLI is sufficient to obtain unrestricted device control, including configuration and switching operations.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
