Repository search disclosure via missing PAT scope check
Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026
Incorrect authorization in GitHub Enterprise Server allows remote authenticated users to retrieve private issue and commit search results. The /search/commits and /search/issues REST endpoints honor the repo:OWNER/REPO qualifier without enforcing the classic PAT repo scope. Exploitation requires existing repository access through organization membership or collaboration; affected releases are 3.16.0 through 3.16.14, 3.17.0 through 3.17.11, 3.18.0 through 3.18.5, and 3.19.0 through 3.19.2.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
