CVE-2026-35716Network attack vector

Root code execution via unchecked n1 copy

Published Jun 2, 2026 · Updated Jun 2, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in VIVOTEK FD8136 firmware 0300a allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code as root. The motion_privacy.cgi binary copies an oversized n1 POST parameter into a fixed 0xa4-byte stack buffer without bounds checking, overwriting the saved link register. Access requires valid web-interface credentials, and the affected binary lacks stack canaries, exposing the camera to control-flow corruption.
