Account disruption via tokenless password reset

Password recovery in phpMyFAQ before 4.1.3 allows remote attackers to reset account passwords through an unauthenticated API request. The updatePassword method in UnauthorizedUserController replaces the stored password after only matching a supplied username and email address, without requiring a reset token or proof of mailbox control. Knowledge of a valid pair is sufficient to enumerate the account and invalidate its existing credential, causing account access disruption without granting takeover unless the mailbox is also controlled.
