Subscriber-level settings modification via unchecked AJAX handlers
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Missing authorization in RepairBuddy 4.1132 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter administrator-level plugin settings via AJAX requests. The wc_rb_get_fresh_nonce handler mints a nonce for any requested action, while wc_rep_shop_settings_submission accepts it and calls update_option() without a capability check. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to change more than 15 business, email, branding, menu, and GDPR options, affecting application integrity.
