CVE-2026-35585Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated RCE via unsanitized hook variable expansion

Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026

OS command injection in File Browser before 2.33.8 allows remote authenticated users to execute server commands via crafted filenames. Runner.exec substitutes attacker-controlled FILE and USERNAME values into administrator-defined shell hooks with os.Expand, without escaping shell metacharacters. Exploitation requires file write permission, an enabled command runner, and a configured shell hook; successful injection runs with the File Browser server process privileges.
