Unauthenticated denial of service via unbounded parsing
Published Apr 3, 2026 · Updated Apr 3, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Amazon Athena ODBC Driver before 2.1.0.0 allows remote attackers to cause denial of service via crafted input. The parsing components process crafted input patterns, unbounded server responses, and deeply nested XML payloads without size or recursion limits. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation exhausts driver resources and interrupts availability on supported platforms.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
