Local system panic via unchecked message size

Heap overflow in FreeBSD libnv 13.5-RELEASE through 15.0-RELEASE allows local users to crash or panic the system via crafted IPC messages. When libnv parses an incoming message header, it fails to reject an inconsistent size field before message processing writes beyond the allocated heap buffer. The confirmed consequence is a crash or system panic; the vendor states that privilege escalation by an unprivileged user remains unconfirmed.
