Shared-user data modification via unrestricted HTTP methods
Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Authorization bypass in Tandoor Recipes before 2.6.4 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite or delete shared RecipeBooks. RecipeBookViewSet and RecipeBookEntryViewSet accept CustomIsShared, whose object-permission check returns true for PUT, PATCH, and DELETE instead of limiting shared access to safe methods. Membership in a RecipeBook's shared list is sufficient to alter the book or its entries and to delete them without ownership.
