Unauthenticated file read via unchecked grammar path
Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Path traversal in oobabooga text-generation-webui before 4.3 allows remote attackers to read server files through its Gradio API. The load_grammar function joins an unchecked dropdown value beneath the grammar directory and opens the resolved path without validation or an extension restriction. The endpoint requires no authentication by default and discloses any file readable by the server process when the service is reachable.
