Out-of-bounds write via WebCodecs heap overflow
Published Mar 4, 2026 · Updated Mar 4, 2026
Heap buffer overflow in WebCodecs in Google Chrome before 145.0.7632.159 allows remote attackers to write out of bounds via crafted HTML. The restricted Chromium issue does not disclose which WebCodecs operation miscalculates or fails to validate the heap-buffer boundary. A user must open the page; the published record confirms memory corruption but does not establish sandbox escape or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
