Contributor-level stored XSS via background post metadata
Published Mar 11, 2026 · Updated Mar 11, 2026
Stored XSS in Brainstorm Force Astra 4.12.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through background post metadata. The ast-page-background-meta and ast-content-background-meta registrations do not sanitize four CSS properties, and astra_get_responsive_background_obj() emits them without output escaping. Contributor-level access is required to save the metadata; the injected script then runs in the browser of any user who opens the affected page.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
