Private-file disclosure via ignored download-hook denial
Published Mar 26, 2026 · Updated Mar 26, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Drupal File Access Fix before 1.2.0 allows remote attackers to read private files through crafted requests. The module fails to honor denial results returned by hook_file_download when a custom or contributed module implements that hook. Exploitation requires such a hook implementation and exposes only files that its access decision should keep private.
