High-privilege data compromise and partial service interruption
Published Apr 21, 2026 · Updated Apr 21, 2026
Improper access control in Oracle VM VirtualBox 7.2.6 allows local users with high privileges to read or alter data and interrupt service. Oracle identifies the affected locus only as the Core component and does not disclose the access-control operation or input that triggers the flaw. Exploitation requires a high-privileged logon on the host where VirtualBox runs, is difficult, needs no user interaction, and can cross security scope while affecting only some accessible data and causing partial denial of service.
