Denial of service via missing TCP timeouts
Published Apr 23, 2026 · Updated Apr 23, 2026
Denial of service in CODESYS EtherNet/IP before 4.9.0.0 allows remote attackers to block new TCP connections to configured adapters. The adapter stack omits timeout checks on active TCP connections, so expired connections remain allocated after the connection pool fills. Only projects with an EtherNet/IP adapter configuration are exposed; no authentication is required, and existing connections remain operational.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
