Page manipulation via raw external stream titles
Published Apr 6, 2026 · Updated Apr 6, 2026
HTML injection in Lichess Lila allows remote authenticated users to alter the streamer listing and homepage through a crafted stream title. TwitchApi and YoutubeApi stored external titles as Html, while cleanStatus only trimmed them before Scalatags inserted the values as raw DOM markup. Exploitation requires an approved streamer to go live with a crafted Twitch or YouTube title; CSP blocks inline script execution, but injected markup can force navigation or mislead viewers.
