Authenticated post takeover via mass-assigned object identity
Published Apr 6, 2026 · Updated Apr 6, 2026
Authorization bypass in Xenocrat Chyrp Lite before 2026.01 allows remote authenticated users to modify posts they cannot edit. Post::__construct(), through Model::grab, assigns every post_attributes key directly to the Post object, allowing an injected id to replace its loaded identity. An account with Add Post and Edit Own Post rights can poison an owned post, then redirect a later update to another user’s post.
