Authenticated code execution via unrestricted CKEditor upload
Published Apr 6, 2026 · Updated Apr 6, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Ajax30 Brave CMS before 2.0.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through CKEditor uploads. The ckupload method in app/Http/Controllers/Dashboard/CkEditorController.php trusts the client-supplied extension and saves the upload in the public images/articles directory without file-type validation. Author privileges are required; a PHP script uploaded through /dashboard/ckupload executes with the web server's privileges when its returned URL is requested.
