CVE-2026-3508

Local system crash via oversized IOCTL read

Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the ASUS System Control Interface IOCTL handler through V3.1.59.1 allows local users to crash Windows. The handler accepts a caller-controlled read size that can exceed its buffer, causing an out-of-bounds kernel-memory read. Low-privilege local access is required; successful exploitation interrupts the endpoint with a BSOD, without reported data disclosure or modification.
