Unauthenticated code execution via installer config injection
Published Jul 20, 2026 · Updated Jul 20, 2026
Code injection in Piwigo 16.3.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP through the network-exposed installer. On PHP 8+, install.php skips addslashes() after testing for the removed get_magic_quotes_gpc() function, then interpolates database POST fields into local/config/database.inc.php. Unauthenticated access to an uninitialized or otherwise reachable installer is sufficient to run commands with web-server privileges on subsequent page loads.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
