Update integrity failure in TrueConf Client 8.1.0 through 8.5.2 allows attackers to execute code through a substituted package. At startup, the Windows client trusts the version advertised by its connected on-premises server, downloads that server's executable, and runs it without verifying package authenticity or integrity. Exploitation requires control of the server delivery path and user approval of the update prompt; the payload runs in the updating user's context.
