Unauthenticated internal access via unchecked URL fetch
Published Apr 6, 2026 · Updated Apr 6, 2026
SSRF in Pavel Zbornik whisperX-FastAPI 0.3.1 through 0.5.0 allows remote attackers to read internal resources via a supplied audio URL. FileService.download_from_url() passes the /speech-to-text-url endpoint's user-supplied URL to requests.get() before checking its extension and without validating the scheme, host, or resolved address. The endpoint requires no authentication; a crafted .mp3 path therefore reaches cloud metadata or internal services and returns their response data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
