Pre-auth database overwrite and file read via restoreTenant
Published Apr 6, 2026 · Updated Apr 6, 2026
Missing authorization in Dgraph before 25.3.1 allows remote attackers to overwrite databases, read server files, and perform SSRF. The restoreTenant mutation is absent from adminMutationMWConfig, so a nil middleware list sends attacker-controlled restore inputs directly to the resolver. Network access to the Alpha admin endpoint is sufficient; crafted backup locations can replace tenant data, probe local paths, or make server-side requests.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
