Authenticated arbitrary file write via schema traversal
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Arbitrary file write in Adminer 5.3.0 through 5.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to write .sql files via the sql-log plugin. plugins/sql-log.php concatenates the unvalidated ns schema parameter into a log pathname, opens it in append mode, and writes submitted SQL verbatim. The plugin must be enabled, and a logged-in user can leave the database unset so schema validation is skipped, then write or expand files in any directory writable by the Adminer process.
