Authenticated code execution via unsanitized collection rules
Published Apr 29, 2026 · Updated Apr 29, 2026
Code injection in Cockpit CMS allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary server commands through crafted collection rules. The /cockpit/collections/save_collection endpoint writes attacker-controlled rule parameters directly into server-side PHP files that are later executed with include(). Collection-management privileges are required; successful exploitation runs PHP and resulting commands with the web-server process's access.
