Unauthenticated shell execution via unvalidated package name
Published May 22, 2026 · Updated May 22, 2026
Command injection in Ubiquiti UniFi OS allows remote attackers with network access to execute arbitrary shell commands. The package-update latest_package handler interpolates a caller-controlled package name into a command string that a sh -c wrapper executes without validation. The unauthenticated path uses an authentication-gateway bypass, and passwordless sudo rights permit root access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
