Process-memory disclosure via out-of-bounds second-instance IPC read

Out-of-bounds heap reads in Electron second-instance IPC allow local users to obtain process memory on macOS and Linux. Crafted second-instance messages are parsed past their intended heap buffer, and the excess bytes are delivered to the application's second-instance event handler. Exploitation requires the same operating-system user and an application that calls app.requestSingleInstanceLock(); Windows and applications that omit the API are unaffected.
