Crash or memory corruption via stale paint callback
Published Apr 3, 2026 · Updated Apr 3, 2026
Use-after-free in affected Electron releases allows remote attackers to crash desktop applications or corrupt process memory via child-window rendering. After a parent offscreen WebContents is destroyed, the surviving child window's paint callback dereferences memory owned by the freed parent. Reachability requires offscreen rendering, a setWindowOpenHandler that permits child windows, and a child that remains open after its parent is destroyed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
