CVE-2026-34766

Unauthorized USB access via unvalidated device selection

Published Apr 3, 2026 · Updated Apr 3, 2026

Authorization bypass in Electron allows local users to obtain access to USB devices excluded by a renderer's request filters. The select-usb-device callback accepts a handler-supplied device ID without confirming that it belongs to the filtered device list presented to the handler. Exploitation requires an app with influenceable, unusual selection logic; Chromium's WebUSB security blocklist still prevents access to blocklisted devices.
