Audit log falsification via mismatched subscriber identifiers
Published Apr 2, 2026 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
Improper input validation in Ella Core before 1.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter subscriber policies through its REST API. The UpdateSubscriber handler uses the body IMSI to select the subscriber but the path IMSI for logging, without checking that they match. NetworkManager or Admin access is required; the mismatch hides policy changes under a nonexistent or unrelated IMSI and undermines forensic attribution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
