Uploader moderation bypass via unchecked status override
Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026
Improper authorization in World Wide Broadcast Network AVideo 26.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to bypass video moderation. The setAutoStatus path in objects/video.php passes the untrusted overrideStatus request value to setStatus after validating only that the code is recognized, without checking permission for the chosen state. Upload permission and enabled moderation are required; an uploader can set a new video to active and publish it without administrator review.
