Application crash via crafted BMFF box size
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Integer overflow in Content Credentials Rust SDK before 0.80.1 and JS SDK before 0.7.1 allows local users to crash apps via crafted BMFF media. The BMFF parser performs overflow-prone size arithmetic on attacker-controlled box metadata, producing invalid offsets that terminate parsing. Local access is required; no privileges or user interaction are needed, and the documented consequence is application termination only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
