Remote code execution via unsanitized ZIP entry names
Published Apr 3, 2026 · Updated Apr 3, 2026
Path traversal in emlog 2.6.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code by uploading a crafted ZIP archive. The emUnZip() function in include/lib/common.php passes attacker-controlled ZIP entry names directly to ZipArchive::extractTo() without rejecting ../ traversal sequences. Administrative access to a plugin, template, or backup-import upload path is required; successful extraction can overwrite server files and place a PHP web shell.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
