Protected-field inference via array-like logical operators
Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026
Type confusion in Parse Server before 8.6.70 and 9.0.0 through 9.7.0-alpha.17 allows remote authenticated users to infer protected fields. The LiveQuery protected-field guard accepts array-like plain objects for $or, $and, and $nor and traverses their numeric properties without requiring actual arrays. Reachability requires find class-level permission and protectedFields configuration; repeated subscription tests expose matches through event firing without returning field values directly.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
