Process crash via unchecked signed-to-unsigned conversion
Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026
Undefined behavior in iccDEV before 2.3.1.6 allows local users to crash iccToXml by converting a crafted ICC profile to XML. In IccUtilXml.cpp, the XML conversion path implicitly converts a negative signed integer from profile data to icUInt32Number, turning -12 into 4294967284. The attacker must locally process a malformed profile; reported impact is limited to a process crash or other unpredictable process behavior.
