Process crash via unmasked unsigned left shift
Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026
Undefined behavior in iccDumpProfile in iccDEV before 2.3.1.6 allows local users to crash the process with a crafted ICC profile. IccUtil.cpp shifts an unsigned 32-bit profile value left by eight bits without first masking its high byte, causing malformed data to exceed the value's representable range. Exploitation requires iccDumpProfile to parse the supplied profile and affects process availability, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
