Process crash via invalid tag-pointer dereference
Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in International Color Consortium iccDEV before 2.3.1.6 allows local users to crash the iccRoundTrip process. CIccTagArray::Cleanup() dereferences an invalid or misaligned tag pointer while destroying a crafted ICC profile, causing an invalid read and segmentation fault. Exploitation requires processing a malicious local profile, and the demonstrated consequence is a crash of the consuming process without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
