Process crash via invalid spectral channel counts
Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026
Heap-buffer overflow in iccDEV before 2.3.1.6 allows local users to crash profile-processing tools via a crafted ICC profile. CIccMpeSpectralMatrix::Read accepts invalid channel counts, including zero input channels, and SetSize consequently creates undersized heap storage that Describe reads out of bounds. Exploitation requires a malicious profile to be processed; the demonstrated iccDumpProfile path terminates under AddressSanitizer, and the advisory reports process crashes without data disclosure or modification.
