Stored XSS via unescaped branding template
Published Apr 1, 2026 · Updated Apr 1, 2026
Stored XSS in the SPA index page in File Browser before 2.62.2 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript in visitors' browsers. The http/static.go handler renders branding.Name into index.html with Go text/template, which performs no context-aware HTML escaping. Administrative access is required to persist a branding payload, but every visitor, including unauthenticated users, receives the script and exposes browser-accessible data.
