Stored XSS via unsafe scripted EPUB preview
Published Apr 1, 2026 · Updated Apr 1, 2026
Stored XSS in File Browser before 2.62.2 allows remote authenticated users to steal browser session tokens via a crafted EPUB preview. Preview.vue enables allowScriptedContent for vue-reader, whose EPUB iframe combines allow-scripts with allow-same-origin and exposes the parent DOM and storage. A user with Create permission must upload the EPUB and persuade a victim to preview it; the script can then read the victim's JWT and hijack the session.
