CVE-2026-34458Public exploit

SYSTEM escalation via unsanitized IPC CRLF sequences

Published May 5, 2026 · Updated May 5, 2026

INI injection in Sandboxie 1.17.2 and earlier allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges via crafted IPC messages. The background service trusts raw CRLF sequences in the value or setting-name fields of UserSettings_ IPC requests and writes them verbatim into Sandboxie.ini, where they create a new unrestricted sandbox section. Local users with standard Windows accounts can bypass EditAdminOnly and ConfigPassword, escape isolation, and execute with SYSTEM privileges.
