Arbitrary file moves via unsanitized rename name
Published Apr 22, 2026 · Updated Apr 22, 2026
Relative path traversal in Xerte Online Toolkits 3.15 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to move files outside project media directories. The elFinder connector's rename command accepts traversal sequences in the name parameter without enforcing the project media root. Exploitation requires knowledge of the source filename and low-privileged connector access; file moves can overwrite application files or stage a web shell when chained with related flaws.
