Arbitrary code execution via eval on SVG Scale
Published Aug 17, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Code injection in BIM Workbench in FreeCAD before 1.1.1 allows attackers to execute arbitrary Python code via a crafted SVG template. In src/Mod/BIM/bimcommands/BimTDPage.py, TechDraw page creation reads the template's editable Scale text and passes slash-containing attacker input to eval() instead of parsing only a numeric ratio. Exploitation requires user interaction to open a malicious local template when creating a TechDraw page, but no prior FreeCAD privileges are required and code runs with the user's permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
