CVE-2026-34393Network attack vector

Authenticated privilege escalation via unrestricted user patching

Published Apr 15, 2026 · Updated Apr 15, 2026

Privilege escalation in Weblate before 5.17 allows remote authenticated users to exceed their assigned access through the user API. The user PATCH endpoint accepts edits beyond the fields and scope authorized for the calling account instead of restricting updates to permitted user attributes. A low-privileged account and network access to the API are required; successful requests grant privileges beyond the account's authorized edit scope.
