Memory-bounds failure in Portwell Engineering Toolkits 4.8.2 and earlier allows local users to read and write arbitrary memory through its driver. The PET driver fails to confine memory operations to their intended buffer bounds, but published records do not identify the affected interface. A locally authenticated user can use the arbitrary read/write primitive for privilege escalation or service interruption; the failure mode is undisclosed.
