Credential theft via prefix-matched SSRF requests
Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026
SSRF in the HAPI FHIR Validator HTTP service before 6.9.4 allows remote attackers to steal configured server credentials via /loadIG. The unauthenticated handler passes the ig value directly to IgLoader, while ManagedWebAccessUtils.getServer uses startsWith() on the destination URL and attaches matching credentials. Exploitation requires a configured FHIR server credential and an attacker-controlled prefix-matching domain or redirect, exposing Bearer tokens, Basic credentials, or API keys.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
